Namibia – an African extravaganza: best places to visit in Namibia

Africa is called the land of safari and the wild life here beckons ardent travelers all the time. An African trip is great for anyone who wants to escape from the fast city life. You will have a great and adventurous experience with lots of excitement and thrill. There are plenty of comfortable tours here and the scenic splendor will mesmerize you. Hire a tourist guide for getting around the city and for watching all the cool spots here.

For the first day, I will recommend you to visit Namib desert at the Windhoek. The scenic spots here are pretty nice and the best places here are Solitaire and Spreetshoogte. It is on the Namibian landscape and there are plenty of resorts on the coastline. You will surely have a time of your life here.

Next, you should probably go to Sossusvlei; the highest sand dune of the world is located here. Go this place and see the rugged canyon. Then go back to the lodge for eating lunch and have a drive through the nature park. You should spend the night here and then the lovely ambience that this place has to offer.

Then, I would recommend you to visit Swakopmund. It is a really lovely place and you will cross Kuiseb Canyon while going through this place. You will get to see the aquarium here along with museums, crystal galleries, and lots of other places. You will also have Living Desert Tour here along with a tour of Mondesa Town.

Next, take a look at Etosha National Park. There is a village here called Himba located close to Kamanjab. Here there are plenty of nomadic people who tell you about the different local traditions that are followed at this place. You can also stay overnight at HImba, there are facilities provided for it. At the Etosha, you will get to see a lot of waterholes which lie along Etosha Saltpan. I will advise you to take a trip to the Windhoek; it is an excellent market for various handicrafts. Tours like these increase the popularity of this place amongst tourists. There are community projects arranged which make sure that the local people have a regular source of income. This community is also well trained at interacting with tourists who visit this place. There are a lot of efforts taken to maintain a good ecological balance and tourism industry is doing its best in increasing such awareness.

At the Mafwe in Namibia, there is the Living Museum which will give you a deep insight in to the Mafwe culture. The main source for income for people here is the entry free and sale of various handicraft items. Himba too is promoting awareness amongst tourists about the culture and civilization here. For me, the Namibia experience was quite wholesome and you should surely experience it.
