The City of Lakes, Udaipur is one of the most thronged travel destinations in the country. Apart from man-made waterbodies, the city also houses numerous magnificent palaces, many built on islands in lakes themselves. Another draw for tourists coming here is the ultra-luxury hotels and resorts, some of which had been the residence of erstwhile maharajas. One of the many things that define the stay of people here is royal treatment, which has come to define Rajasthan in many ways. There is no dearth of high-end hotels and resorts here that offer vacationers a luxurious stay. Two such properties in the city are Heritage Resort and Inder Residency.
About 20 km north of the main city, Heritage Resort Udaipur is situated on the banks of Bagela Lake. An environment-friendly property, it grows its own vegetables without the use of chemicals. Overlooking the Aravalli Hills, it has been designed to look like a fort. Its well-lit rooms are equipped with air conditioners so that guests are not bothered by the generally hot regional weather. All have an LCD TV at their disposal to stay entertained when they are not doing anything else. Jharokha-style windows give a panoramic view of the lake and hills. In their leisure time, people can sit in the on-site lawn or take a walk through acres of green space.
An airy in-house restaurant, overlooking the greenery, serves a variety of dishes. Guests can also head to the swimming pool or just relax on sun loungers. Heritage Resort Udaipur features a spa, where a range of rejuvenating therapies and body treatments are available.
A high-end hotel, Inder Residency Udaipur offers accommodation under a number of categories. People can pick Deluxe Rooms (garden view), Super Deluxe Rooms (pool view), Hawa Mahal Balcony Room, and Grand, Maharaja or Presidential suites. Considering that the local weather is hot, all rooms and suites feature central air conditioning. Guests can watch all their favourite movies and shows on the en suite LCD TV. All occupants can make use of a tea and coffee machine to start the day on a refreshing note; they also have a soft mini-bar for cold drinks. Those, staying at the Presidential Suite, are offered a mini-bar, fully stocked with spirits and liquors. All en suite bathrooms, except those of Deluxe Rooms, have a bathtub in addition to a shower. People can make use of Wi-Fi facility to stay connected to the world or work.
Inder Residency Udaipur offers four dining options to suit a variety of palates. Laziz, the in-house fine-dining restaurant, specialises in international dishes with Indian influences. A lavish buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is available at the Tashkeen 24-hour cafe. People can relax with an exquisite cocktail or beers, wines and other liquors at the Harbour bar and Poolside barbeque restaurant, which also serves grilled delights. The health-conscious can work out at the on-site gym or head to the sauna or steam room. To get refreshed, the cool waters of the swimming pool will seem welcoming. Kids can keep themselves busy in the gaming zone of the hotel. The hotel also houses a beauty salon and Relax spa, specialising in Ayurvedic therapies.
